2. HOW TO PARTICIPATE

 

 

Participation in this Archaeological Film festival is open to everyone, individual participants, associations, state and private institutions. Works must follow the instructions explained here below.

Instructions by category

SHORT FILMS

Fiction short films based on Archaeology, History or Sciences related with the archaeological research. Works should not last more than 30 minutes. All languages are allowed. Subtitles in English or Spanish are mandatory for those works recorded in any other language

DOCUMENTARY REPORT

Non-fiction short documentaries reporting facts currently happening in the Archaeology. This section is a common point for archaeologists, film makers and activists in a halfway between cultural criticism and social denounce of actual situations. All genres are allowed: comedy, reality show, report, social or political satyr or interviews. All languages are allowed. Subtitles in English or Spanish are mandatory for those works filmed in any other language

Entries delivery and deadline

All entries must be delivered before the 30th of January of 2017. They must be sent in DVD format to the postal address here below:

A personal information form must be sent with all works, the form must contain these data: Film title, author(s) complete name(s), institution or association (when existing), producers (if existing), production team, locations, language, language edition (when existing), duration, short description (5 lines as max.), complete address, email and phone number. Indicate on the envelope Archaeological Film Festival.

There is the possibility to send works via email to zamoraprotohistorica@gmail.com. In this case, the personal information form must be attached as a document (Word or PDF) to the email with these data: Film title, author(s) complete name(s), institution or association (when existing), producers (if existing), production team, locations, language, language edition (when existing), duration, short description (5 lines as max.), complete address, email and phone number. Indicate Archaeological Film Festival as a subject.

3. THE  FESTIVAL

 

The film festival has two rounds of competition: Web (qualifying round) and Festival projection (classificatory round).

 

1st ROUND: WEB QUALIFYING ROUND

 

Once the deadline has passed, works shall be published on the website http://arqueocine.jimdo.com with a direct link to Youtube. Viewers will vote for their favourite short films or documentaries. The four most voted works from each category will be qualified for the final round

 

2nd ROUND (FINAL ROUND): FESTIVAL PROJECTION


The eight qualified works will be projected during the Festival in April 2016. In this final round, it is the specialised Jury the entitled to declare works as 1st and 2nd classified by category.

4. AWARDS

2nd Classified: 250€

5. JURY

 

The Jury will be formed by 5 members: An Archaeologist, a Film-maker, a professional from the Culture-business, a representative from the Zamora City Council and a member of the ZamoraProtohistorica Scientific and Cultural Association.

 

 

6. COPYRIGHT

Authors shall relinquish their work’s copyright on ZamoraProtohistorica Archaeological Film Festival with the purpose of publishing and projecting works during the festival rounds of qualifying and classification. ZamoraProtohistorica Archaeological Film Festival shall keep works’ copyright for any other ulterior activities carried out by the ZamoraProtohistorica Scientific and Cultural Association.
